Its easier to park in the ending town, around May 1 that town will allow you to buy long term parking pass for the week you are riding. I have went alone for the last 7 years. I use Brancel Charter so I always know where I will be camping plus having someone to carry my things each day. The main reason is the lack of good paved east/west roads. We all have to remember too that not everyone in the state was on vacation that week and needed to use the public roads.

Be sure you stop at the 2 small children selling cookies for 50 cents, take a few minutes to talk with them, it makes their whole day.
Stop at the care centers when you go through the towns, quite often the route goes right by them. Talk to the residents sitting outside, they love talking talking with you.
