I’m about to do my 4th Ragbrai, and I do not believe I have ever seen a bike locked up anywhere on the ride. However, on the other hand, if I owned a $6000 plus bike , I may consider using one. I would think if some one is going to take a bike , they would try take a higher end bike.
I agree 100% with FastEddy. I think it is very unsafe and would put a lot of riders at a potential risk for injury. I know sometimes it’s necessary to ride against the flow for short periods, but if it’s not necessary then I think it would be irresponsible. This will be only my 4th Ragbrai so I don’t have a long experience like some riders , howev…[Read more]
Check out Pork Belly Ventures (PVC), it’s one of the Ragbrai charters , I’m pretty sure you can rent bikes from them . In addition , I’ve used their charter service the last 3 years and will again this year . I’ve been very happy with them , no complaints at all . You will have a blast on Ragbrai . See you Iowa !
Great job to TJ and his team on a fantastic route for 2019. I loved the twist on the ending river town. Thanks go out to TJ and his staff for all the hard work and endless hours of work you put in to make Ragbrai such a fantastic event. You guys are the best !!
TJ , thank you for providing clarity on the E-bike issue .I agree 100% with your mature , well thought out opinion on the use of E-Bikes on Ragbrai. All your work is greatly appreciated, you do a great job . I’m looking forward to another great experience riding cross Iowa next July ! Thanks again for all you do on behalf of all us riders.
After reading and thinking about everyone’s view on this topic, I agree with Cory Rood’s opinion…”as long as it requires peddling, who cares?” “You do you and let other people do themselves”. I do a lot of riding and I view this as a fun social ride, it’s not the Tour De France . For those that are looking for a more challenging , competitive…[Read more]
The airforce bike team members are fantastic, angels on wheels earning their wings ! I did not have to use their help personally, however, I did see them help tons of riders along the route. Several times when I had stopped to rest they asked if everything was ok as they rode by making sure I was ok . I have the utmost respect for those…[Read more]

We did it because it was Sunday and we wanted to attend mass at St.Patricks Church that was along the route. I was on my Trek Domani rd bike and lost control going down a hill to fast , went…[Read more]
