Pacelines Suck, or more correctly people who have no business being on or knowledge of riding on one suck. A couple of years ago on an windy day my SO and I were riding, her tucked in behind me. a 4 man pace line in kitted out gear and on road bikes passed us (no problem) but at the end was a guy on a hybrid in sweats trying to hang on. He was…[Read more]
Definitely not as cool as the old school map, but if you use strava you can use view your all time heat map, shows everywhere I went biking and looks really cool for quickly identifying the ragbrai routes that I have been on.
OK, I am in the minority, we actually look to camp near generators, primarily because we consider it white noise and it drowns out people talking/snoring/you can imagine. If you don’t like the generators you can move.
I am bored tonight so I will add to the general comments.
1. On your left to me means hold your line, over the past two years I was riding in the right lane and someone starts yelling on your left, on your left… Last year it was a tandem and they got pissed because they had to hit their brakes in a congested area, this year after the same lady…[Read more]

Any Tray type of bike rack that holds the bikes by the wheels is the best, you really don’t want anything touching the frame. However saying that I have been transporting my carbon bikes on all different type of racks including those holding it by the top tube for years.
Allen Wrench is a tool that is always on my bike in the saddle bag. Almost all aspects of a bike can be adjusted with one. But in the specific case of shipping the bike, the allen wrench is necessary to put the stem back on(I remove the handlebars at the stem and headset not the handlebars themselves so my handlebars are in the perfect position…[Read more]
