According to the Ragbrai app TJ is still the director. Seems that should be simple update? They have people waiting for their orders or waiting to just get a response but yet they have plenty of time to design new shirts and items to purchase and advertise them. Seems to me with Ragbrai being cancelled they would have plenty of more time to take…[Read more]
Given more thought? Seems to me you had plenty of time to think about how you would handle questions, demands, refunds, etc. You knew that there was a very very very good chance Ragbrai would be cancelled/postponed this year. Its not like it came out of nowhere. Sounds like excuses or an extreme lack of planning, forthought, and understanding to me.
Like I said in another thread, the bad publicity, reviews, and upset customers are going to hurt bubbas in the long run. Theres always riders (new and old) asking for input on charter services, Im sure those who lose their money wont hesitate to offer their opinion.
Will be interesting to see how contracts are written in the future. Concerts,…[Read more]
Wonder if Bubba considers Ragbrai 2021 a future ride? Maybe he will reach out to those and offer them other options now that Ragbrai is officially canceled. IHe will lose more money in the long run in bad publicity and unhappy customers if doesnt offer a refund or allow the fees to be applied to nexts yeara Ragbrai.
Im thinking about doing Bike the Coast in San Diego in October. Theres different route options ranging from 7 miles to 100. Its far enough away that it hasnt been canceled yet and 100 miles enough to keep me riding/training consistently the next several months until October. Im the type if I dont have something to train for I wont ride nearly…[Read more]
Heres another point of view…. sounds like the Governor of Iowa has been slow to issue any kind of stay at home orders or place any restrictions on people like most other states. With the lack of restrictions it may not be cyclists traveling to Ragbrai that increase the cases of coronavirus but Iowas own governors faikure to issue any kind of…[Read more]
Is it a vaccine or a cure? They are two different things. Either way, we couldnt handle getting toilet paper in a orderly fashion, I cant imagine how big of a cluster #$%^ it would be to try to obtain a vaccine or a cure.
How would anyone be able to prove where one got the virus? You could get before you ever got to Ragbrai or on the way to Ragbrai. Proving you got it at Ragbrai would be pretty tough. Even if you could prove you got it Ragbrai how could anyone hold them responsible? Im sure theres fine print somewhere that releases them from any liability of…[Read more]
I dont think they release the pass through towns until they decide that theyre going to continue to do the ride. I dont think it would be a good idea to release them if they cancel Ragbrai as I dont think the towns want riders to ride the route even if Ragbrai doesnt happen. If its canceled, then next year at the route announcment part maybe…[Read more]
Why is politics not allowed but some of the other threads that dont have anything to do with Ragbrai or cycling allowed? If you dont like someone talking about politics or anything other subject matter then guess what…. you dont have to respond.
If we beat this thing it will still be a month or two away. Last thing that anyone is going to want to do or should do is jump right into normal life. Its going to be a gradual return to normal living and having our normal events. Unless there is some kind of vaccine/cure on the horizon, even if there can you imagine how people will react to…[Read more]
Coronavirus or not… its all the germs in kybos, on tables, food truck condiment containers, drink bins, etc where people are constantly touching and putting their hands on things you need to be worried about. Imagine all the dirty hands that dip into a large tub to grab bottled water, soda and beer. Then you put your mouth on lip of the can to…[Read more]
You dont have to eat the PBV food. PBV has a ton of showers that are included and they provide you a towel each day so thats one less thing you have to pack and worry about. The entertainment in town is much better than PBV. I eat the “free” meal with PBV then head downtown to eat more. Youll find that the downtown food vendors are mostly the…[Read more]
