As someone who bikes that area as my regular ride I would guess the dip would be at the Tom Hanafan River’s edge park. This is on the CB side of the Kerry bridge.
The bike trail at the bottom of the parking lot is just feet from the water.
I agree with some of the prior posters, I have never taken a bag on RAGBRAI. Air mattress to get you off the ground and sheets and blanket is so much more comfortable for me. Packs down really small and for me anyway, is more comfortable especially when it is a little hot out.
Thank you for posting this story, it has inspired me to invite all of my siblings and any of their siblings to join me this year on RAGBRAI. Will any of them take me up on it? doubtful but I am going to give it a try.

I use the largest Eureka tent and it is Fabulous. I have a Queen sized blow up air mattress with luxurious sheets and pillows from my bed at home.
