I checked and all the rental car places in the Quad Cities except for the airport on the south side of Moline close by noon. So you’d have to get to a rental place at “Quad City International Airport”.
You might have more luck getting a ride to Davenport just 40 miles away to a car rental place at the Quad Cities airport. Rent a car 1-way from there. Plus be specific, are you looking for a ride to O’Hare in Chicago or Minneapolis? Looking for a ride this late will be a problem to specific out of state destinations otherwise. You might have to ride your bike to the Quad Cities airport to get a rental and drive back for your luggage.

You won’t get many or any hits on your post under a discussion topic of “Forum” from 7 years ago. On the right of the main forum page click on the appropriate category first and start a new discussion/subject with “Selling a Week Long Pass (wristband)” instead.
Not your team captain’s fault. That’s the way every team I’ve gone with operates. You get your packet when you show up for RAGBRAI. The cutoff to request a refund from RAGBRAI has passed but it would be your team Captain at your request that would have to file for that as I recall.
Don’t blame your captain for something you should have read about before you signed up. When I’d register it would not be through the team. I’d handle my registration on my own and receive it directly. You can still go with a team, just let the captain know. And so many people are selling wristbands this year not all will be sold anyway.

Using a backpack pretty much shouts out “friend to geeks whoever you are”.
I can debunk a popular myth that it’s Team Roadkill. Team Roadkill does NOT decorate the road kill, never has. I was part of TRK for 5 RAGBRAIs. We don’t want to get blamed.
Ebikes were just starting to appear in 2019. Their numbers will increase with time.
Some pedal power riders can be a problem or as we use to say in racing circles, more strength then brains. But for the most part while acquiring strength and stamina pedal power riders are also acquiring experience and safe practices when riding at fast speeds. Since ebike riders just purchase speed, they don’t always develop the safe riding practices over time to ride faster in group situations. But they can if they make an effort to learn and research what the dos and don’ts are. No cutting in and out of lines, watch for slower riders pulling out to pass, maintain your line (on a curve or straight), etc… And don’t join groups of riders you are not familiar with. There is no open invitation to join any group you want. All of which really goes for all riders too.

Those who decided on PB will love it and it is fully immersed in RAGBRAI culture. Plus the in camp music every evening is great. They still include 3 dinners I assume. The shower trucks are top notch. And if you elected the tent service that also include delivering your luggage to the tent and picking it up from the tent each day. So much easier then searching for you luggage n a big pile every day.
Exactly right Ken. The last thing RAGBRAI leadership is likely to want is another group appearing with their logo (also protected) exercising editorial content control appearing to be an official RAGBRAI group. I’d remove the logo and remove RAGBRAI from the name.
Caution using anything named RAGBRAI on it as its a protected trademark so the people who control RAGBRAI may not take to any group named RAGBRAI Newbies or other variations. They may see it as trying to officially represent the RAGBRAI organization.
A FB page for newbies would get lots of questions but would not have as many answers from experienced riders. The forum is better if you want answers based on experience.

Let’s hope they don’t go with starting corrals like the American Birkebeiner XC Ski race does with waves. They do it because its a timed race and the waves are based on previous finish times. On RAGBRAI this would create riders all bunched up in each corral. Great if you want to possibly get law suits from anyone who catches COVID during RAGBRAI.

Andrea said they are trying to get the anti-spam software corrected. It had been preventing new discussions for a while which seems fixed now. Maybe some fix also broke this but send the details to Andrea Parrott via a PM
Quakerman, I sent the below to Andrea successfully.
The forum has issues with posting a new discussion under a category. It has open fields for subject and the text but the robot check doesn’t show up and the submit fails to post the new discussion. Quakerman and I have been replying on the RAGBRAI XVLIII – 2021 thread about it. Replies still work, just not new discussion topics under the selected category.
Quakerman, I tried testing this also and you’re right on the money. It fails to post and the robot check doesn;t show up when attempting the post either. I’ve had success PMing Andrea before directly about issues so I’ll try that hoping it still works. The Robot check apparently only works on a reply.
