I predict that it will be very crowded on certain days however overall below normal. I feel that bandits will be plenty this year since many won’t feel comfortable committing for the entire week but will jump in for a day. I am hoping that it will be end up being close to normal as the communities that are willing to host deserve a good return…[Read more]
Iowa Ride needs to just go away. Crazy that the they need to get the word out about their failures on the site that they wanted to destroy. It’s a tough world out there and they couldn’t cut it. Now go away.
I will be riding my Cervelo S5 for the fifth time across Iowa. The other six Ragbrai I have done have been on road bikes as well. I have read a lot of suggestions on what to ride however I believe it comes down to ride what you want to ride. If you would feel most comfortable on a hybrid ride it, if you like the preformance of a road bike ride…[Read more]
Since the new format of this site I don’t see where my registration has been rolled over from last year. I have options to register but no where does it shows that I am already registered. Anyone else notice that?
January 30th makes sense for the announcement party. I checked my calendar and 2019 & 2020 announcement parties were held on the last Saturday in January. January 30th, 2021 is the last Saturday in January as well. I am looking forward to this Ragbrai as much as any I have done. This will be my 11th Ragbrai in the last 14 years. Having to sit…[Read more]
I don’t have an inside source for the March 15th date. I read it in the article about naming the replacement overnight town. It makes sense to me that they will have to make a decision around that time to enable all the towns to do the proper planning needed to host in July. I hope it happpens but I will understand if it does not.
If what I heard that they will make a decision by March 15th, my quess is that it will not happen. I understand why they have to decide by then I just don’t see the numbers being good enough by then. I hope I am wrong I really don’t want to go two years in a row without Ragbrai. Last year myself and a few friend did what we called No Ragbrai No…[Read more]
I would hope they would leave Clinton as the ending town. Ragbrai commmited to leave the route as is for 2021, losing one town should only require them to replace that stop. Clinton and the other stops should be rewarded for their efforts in securing their spot for 2020.
Last week five of us did the “No Ragbrai No Problem Bike Ride” (my name for the week). We stayed at a hotel in La Crosse WI and did five days of riding. We did some great rides, the Driftless Region is an amazing area for cycling. Bicycle-LaCrosse.com had several options for rides and one day we did the Root River Trail. Downtown LaCrosse had…[Read more]
