To all my ragbrai friends, this is at least a temporary goodby. I haven’t ridden all spring, and I am moving to Burlington WI this Summer. I will be thinking of you all and will be with you in spirit. “See you down the road”!!!!!
Fitness Lynn was a young woman from central Illinois who was devotee of health and fitness. She rode with her husband who also did naked beer (really water) slides. They had some kids who grew and then she quit. A very nice woman who added much to earlier rag raids.
hello! Hello! Papa T here, still kicking. My favorite Bike shop in Lake county is now Lifestyle Cycle on Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville (one block north of the Dairy Queen, one block south of access to the Des Plaines River trail) Fred, the boss sez it’s OK for us to meet at his shop to discuss upcoming bike activities including Ragbrai.
Last yean Frodo (who owns the Brewhaha Bus) said no go. This year he’s sayn maybe. Brewhaha is over for me in any case cuz I have signed on with “Hills angeles” I’ll see you in Le Mars next July. DIMICNW?
As you all know, Papa T has Balls (big balls) it turns out there will not only be a Ragbrai and an Iowa Ride (awkward name)(I personally vote for “Bragrai”) next year It will be the most attended of ALL TIME!!! THE MAN will try to limit attendance, but There will be bandits EVERYWHERE! Papa will be there with “Hills Angels” kickin ass and takin…[Read more]
Thank you Dieter, what you say make sense to me. However, testing everyone seems overwhelming. You have in excess of 500 riders, several “bandits” each day, what about townspeople. If this (testing and wristbands every day) is to be done it sounds REAL hard! Just sayin.

I propose all riders, staff, servers and observers observe a “do not wear clothes” protocol. keeping everyone clean and sanitary is an ABSOLUTE requirement. Bike helmets and shoes have to be an obvious exception for safety reasons. Observers will be encouraged to spray the riders with a disinfectant as the pass by. This is the only truly safe…[Read more]
Hey Phil, Surprise, I’m from Vernon Hills been on Ragbrai many times. And I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we could meet in person and plan something for the summer. Independence grove comes to mind. but anywhere along the Des Plains river trail or millenium trail would work. Let me know.
hi Hills Angels!!
My name is dave Taylor, Ragbrai name Papa T.Hope we’re riding with the Angels this year, but it sure looks unlikely. I guess they are going to announce whether the Ragbrai will go six days from now. I’ll come back then.
You make a good point (about Lawsuits) Regarding events this summer and the problem with tort reform in this country. If cash awards from lawsuits are allowed later this year for anyone getting the covid 19 that they may have contracted a a large gathering of people, Then there will be NOBODY willing to schedule a large gatherings of people.…[Read more]
