All the info above should be enough to get you through RAGBRAI without any issues. The only other thing I’d offer up would be to get a long ride in at least once if not a couple times. Doesn’t have to be a century but a 60-70 mile day will prepare you for how your body reacts to being on the bike for 4-5 hours. You should be in good shape.…[Read more]

I think we are going down a cruise of a river basin from Rock Rapids to Keokuk. A diagonal route that we haven’t done in quite a while. Following is my guess for this year.

You’ll be well prepared for the ride with one notable concern. Liver Training. Is your liver ready for the trip? Some don’t consume on the ride and I completely respect that. However, I like to partake in all that is BRAI. Have fun and ride right.

Tracey, you should consider Tumbleweed Classic. Departs Erie, CO on July 16 and ends in Glenwood, IA on July 23 (then it’s party time with RAGBRAI to finish the adventure). There are only a couple riders doing it this year. No Bad Boys. :-( Gonna miss the bar on the back of their bike.

It doesn’t sound so much like you’re concerned about the miles more than you are the saddle time. Find yourself an old drummers stool. Remove your seat post and seat from your bike. Anyone making the ride from Denver Area to Glenwood, IA this year? Looking for others interested in joining the 1st Annual Tumbleweed Classic from Erie, CO to Glenwood, IA starting 7/16/16. Currently have 3-4 riders and a support vehicle.

I’m guessing both Villisca and Corning will be pass throughs. corning could even be Bus Town. Really looking forward to the South route this year. The band booking clue is fantastic CyRider. AND it supports the Cogs and Wheels theory. I couldn’t agree more with Ken. 2013 ride was fantastic and definitely my favorite as well.

Really like the idea of the cogs being the overnight towns. The wheels representing Towns/cities. Maybe the large Wheel representing Des Moines.
