Sorry – I don’t go on this site very often and didn’t realize the age of the posts. I haven’t ridden RAGBRAI in 2 years. I was just giving my opinion – which is what forums are about. Didn’t intend to wake a dead horse. You are free to ignore – but by posting again yourself, didn’t you just add more fuel to the fire? Just sayin…

Not sure what that means, but don’t associate my name with that cry baby jerk that put his bruised fragile ego ahead of thousands that just want to ride our bike in a cool event.

I would like to climb Mt Everest too but my lung capacity limits me from participating. Should I be allowed to take a snow mobile to get there – and then use a jet pack to get past people in front of me? No – but I don’t feel “excluded” or discriminated against. I just choose to climb smaller mountains and other hiking events. Same goes for RAGBRAI.

I just say “NO” to e-bikes. It will change the whole culture and challenge of RAGBRAI. If you get to the point that you can’t ride a bicycle anymore at a level required for RAGBRSI, then sure, get an e-bike and use it for recreation, join a local e-bike club or start an e-bike event. Anyone successful downloading map to the “Ride with GPS” app? I am trying to download to an iPhone. I downloaded the app. and I registered a userid on Ride with GPS website. I lay mine down inside (or mostly inside) my tent vestibule. It would make some noise to get it out of there. 4th RAGBRAI – no problem yet.

I am trying to fly home after the ride out of Moline airport (MLI) back to CA on Saturday evening. This will be my 4th year riding solo (registered all 4 years ). I always use the included luggage truck. As others stated, there is great freedom solo. No worrying about others pace and finding people. I have also made new friends and then met them again the following year(s). As I say – just me and 15,000 of my closest friends!
