If you need a ride just go to our cheddar site, once you register you will be added to our email list. We are picking people up in Fairfield, Centerville, Des Moines and Marne.

I was there last week. The bike route on the way is flooded, to get there you have to travel on heavily congested streets that will probably be worse due to Ragbrai traffic coming into the event.

I’ve heard people on our team complain about the variance in the official route versus what their computers say when they are on a bike. Team Pilderwasser rented a party bus this year for the ride out to Council Bluffs and we have a few seats left. You can join our team or just catch a ride on the bus.

We can help you out, we can make Centerville part of the way out and pick you up there on Saturday morning. When you sign up just put that in as part of the instructions.

We start at the end of the ride so that when the ride is over your vehicle is positioned to get you home. This makes your last day on Ragbrai much more enjoyable. This is my 14th Ragbrai. Last year was hilly on the last day. Was pulling my 6 year old daughter and had to walk up the hill. I wasn’t the only one. In fact most walked up the last two hills that day. Point is that it was one of the funnest days I ever had on Ragbrai. Don’t worry about the hills, go at your own pace and have fun.

Look at the forecast before you leave and adjust. Bring sweats and if it’s cold you can wear them to bed. I’ve been on hot Ragbrai’s and some rather cool ones of course you can usually support the local economies and buy stuff on the road if needed.

We scouted it out last week and I do not think you would want to park close to the river. I do know of a place where you can park for $25.
