I guess the information says they’ll “start communicating” on May 1st. In the past it was more of a “big bang” where everyone heard on the 1st, so it does appear the process is different this year. Probably shouldn’t be surprised given the new registration system.
Depends on what you mean by “decent high end”. I would say there’s a lot of late model trek/specialized/giant/etc carbon fiber Ultegra component type bikes. If you’re talking above $10k kinda bike, I would say those would be rare. I’m thinking I’ll try both next year. As long as I have my own support vehicle and day passes for the days riding in each, what would stop me from 1st 4 days on RAGBRAI and last 3 on Iowa’s ride? (OK, maybe Iowa’s ride will only have a week long pass, so I’ll spend a few extra bucks for the week pass.)
The 2018 route maps on the RAGBRAI site have ride with GPS files which show the % grade over the entire ride. 2019 route maps don’t have that (as far as I can tell). Does anyone know where I could find that data for the 2019 route? – Thanks
