I will speak for myself too. My loyalty is to Iowa. I have stated I wish and think both rides can survive. TJ and his staff are A+. Gannett will have a hard time replacing them. But they will. When it comes down to it. Its really all about the riders and citizens of Iowa. No matter what you call the ride. People from all over the world come to Iowa to enjoy its hospitality. Heart Attack. Afterwards I was scared to get back on the bike to exert myself. Dumb move. I gained 80 pounds. Anyhoooo I need to just knock the dust off the bikes and start riding again.

AS I said in another post. The logistics of this ride are very large. You need a staff that have contacts and knowledge of regional capabilities. You are not going to pull people from other events that have the knowledge. If it was just TJ. The new director would have old staff that would pull up to the plate. Wow! I was charter service coordinator for 10 years. I was shocked to hear TJ and staff resigned. I’ve worked in broadcast media since 1984. So I know how media companies control their staff.
