We got an email today 7/3 that our team packet hasn’t yet been assembled and they are out of some sizes of jerseys. We were asked to respond and did so within hours only to get a bounce-back that the person is out until the middle of next week. Hoping they will get here before we have to leave for Iowa.
Just curious. I couldn’t find anything on the website that excluded them, so assuming the sag vehicles can also pick up ebikes? They are a lot heavier which made me wonder. Anyone know if there is a restriction on using SAG for ebikes?
Conceptually, I think I understand the difference between these two types of towns. I’m guessing one you pass through, and the other you can meet your support vehicle and reconnect with your group. But are there any other differences? For example, one type has porta potties, the other doesn’t. One has food, other doesn’t. Or is it…[Read more]
I have talked to my doctor. He didn’t rule it out. Said it was aggressive and the next 6 weeks would tell. He gave me training exercises to do with my right leg to help compensate for the left leg when I can ride again. I’m non weight bearing for the next couple of weeks.
I go back for a second set of xrays next week. Right now I’m just looking…[Read more]
A week ago today I broke my foot falling down the stairs at the Tower of London. 🙂 Great story, terrible timing! I’ve waited for years to do RAGBRAI. Idaho is my home now. Iowa (Fairfield) is where I’m from. And it’s my 40th class reunion the weekend after the ride. So, no way I’m not going to at least TRY to do this ride!
I ride with Community Bicycle Rides. We have a group of 19 folks going. Everyone is flying but one lady driving our bike trailer to Iowa by herself. She’d love company! And you could probably go for free. 🙂
I have ridden about a dozen week long bike rides and swear by the selle Italia Diva Gel flow Women’s saddle. It’s very comfortable. They sell it on Amazon for about $75. Most of the women in our bike club ride this saddle.
Posting this for Barb. Reserve your spot via her contact info below.
The Corn Crib Bed and Breakfast is already rented for the RAGBRAI night in Indianola, but I have 4 acres available for camping. For $10 per person you have access to a hot shower, swimming pool, hot tub, and a camp fire to sit around and relax from the day. I will also have a…[Read more]
Hey all. Yep, newbie here. I did not mean for that to go to the RAGBRAI universe. It was for our group. Thanks for keeping me straight. I think we’re all going to use PBV. Very impressed. Particularly with the comprehensive support since we’re a group of 16 brand newbies travelling over a thousand miles for this adventure. Fairfield is where I…[Read more]
