inquiring minds want to know; ask the president he seems to think it will all be over in April.
seriously, you are more likely to catch the flu in the flu season, ie winter. however, have you never been sick in summer?
a better boogey man to worry about would be the Norovirus. Water or food contamination are the causes.

I’m not qualified to offer specific advise as I have never flown with a bike.
That being said, might be a good idea to fly into O’Hare in Chicago?
I would imagine there will be charters returning to Chicago after RAGBRAI.
I will be signing up with OOS and do both rides, but I have transportation to and from Clinton,IA.
If it moves on 2 or 3 wheels you will see it on RAGBRAI. I have done RAGBRAI 5 times, all on a Terra Tour (20″) trike. Just pick a spot on the right and let the hot shots fly by you. Some of the other advice folks have wrote bears repeating: a) 20″ wheels? Carry and bring extra spare tubes. Also bring along a spare tire. The mechanics in the next…[Read more]
Its a ride, not a race. Is it an unfair advantage to who? I think its an unfair advantage that college age riders with their twenty something hearts and lungs are “competing” with us old fat farts! See you on the climbs….have fun!

I will be riding my 10 year old red Terra Tour.
Assuming I don’t break it, I will have a red VERSABRELLA to provide me with shade.
Twenty inch wheels all around.
Altec-Lansing Life jacket speaker attached to right side rear of seat.
I have a variety of flag options.
If you are moving at 11 mph, you’ll pass me.
Went to the Arlington Heights (IL) bike swap yesterday. A Cat Trike was being offered. It had a wider cockpit then I’ve tested before. (I didn’t catch the model.) It also included a battery assist setup. All for $1,000. SWEET! I was tempted but my wife was with me and I already store two trikes, one uss recumbent and a sport wedgie in my 4-1/2 room condo.
I always bring one folding 20″ tire when ever I do a week long ride. Only once did I have to replace (front tire on a Vision) a tire on the ride. Usually I just leave it in my camping bag, relying on sag service if problems occur.
