Heartland Express founder Russell Gerdin, who built a tiny Iowa business into one of the nation’s best-known small companies, died Friday night after a long battle with cancer. He was 70.
Gerdin’s Heartland Express has provided the baggage trucks and drivers for RAGBRAI riders for the past six years. Gerdin has given generously to many charitable organizations throughout Iowa.
Our thoughts are with the Gerdin Family.
