Piglets (and pork chops) near Manning

More than a dozen four-day old piglets lured riders off the road to the farm of Kent and Kathy Halbur, about three miles south of Manning. They squealed in a makeshift pen (the piglets, not the Halburs) and posed as best they could for thousands of photos.
The Halburs have about about 165 sows in all and chuckled whenever one of the spandex-clad city slickers wanted to know each piglet’s name.
“I didn’t think anybody would stop. I mean, we see pigs every day,” Kent Halbur said, after swapping out the piglets for another squirmy, squealy batch who had been napping in the barn.
He estimated that each piglet weighed about 3 pounds – just about two-and-a-half pounds more than than the tenderloins Mr. Porkchop was grilling up just over the next hill.
