RAGBRAI riders caused few problems for law enforcement during their Des Moines stay, officials said today.
No one was arrested Tuesday night at festivities downtown or at the campgrounds at Water Works Park, Des Moines Police Sgt. Jason Halifax said.
“The crowds were well-behaved and responsible using the shuttle bus and taxis as needed,” Halifax said. “For the most part, the riders and participants don’t want to create problems. They want to celebrate and move on the next day.”
Halifax said officers were encouraged to “show some tolerance and work on finding solutions other than arrests.”
