RAGBRAI 2012: Flash mob in Clinton

Clinton, Ia. – What’s the best way to celebrate the end of RAGBRAI? A flash mob.
At 11:15 this morning, students and teachers with the Carousel School of Dance held a surprise flash mob at the entrance to the city’s dip site on the Mississippi River. They performed their routine to a techno-style version of Queen’s “Bicycle Race.”
It was choreographer Ashley Herrington’s second RAGBRAI flash mob. Yesterday, she performed two with Dance Arts Iowa in Mount Vernon.
While she enjoyed today’s, the cyclists yesterday in Mount Vernon were the most energized.
“We had people that actually danced with us,” she said. “Bicyclists got off their bikes and started dancing. They had no idea what they were doing.”
