RAGBRAI 2012: Pink bra ladies in Farnhamville

Farnhamville — Watch out Hooters girls: The fine ladies of the Benevolent Patriotic Order (BPO) of Does may give you a run for your money. The Jefferson branch of the women’s club, similar to the Elks, formed quite the “support” group here in their amply proportioned pink bras.

The club was selling burgers and brat to raise money for a trip to the 2013 national convention in Orlando, Fla., where Jefferson’s own Esther Fister-Palmer will preside as the BPOD national supreme president.

The mostly middle-aged women have donned their busty pink uniforms before – to raise money for the anti-cancer Relay for Life, among other causes – and their previous work seemed to be paying off. Two members were out on the road at 5 this morning, hammering signs about meeting the “Pink Bra Ladies” for miles along the route.

Call it truth in advertising. “I saw more of you than I thought would,” one man told the group.

The good-natured ogling went both ways. One of the women who sported a Team Flamingo on her chest asked one of the team’s members for a photo.

“We tracked him down,” she said, laughing. “He was so cute we thought we needed to take a picture with him.”

Ladies, no clothing is necessary under the bra!

These are the ladies of my drove. They are great. We will be traveling to Orlando next June 2013 for the national convention. They will be performing the Flag Day Ceremony.

Actually we were selling homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, and bars along with water, gatorade, apples and bananas. And many thanks to all the riders for their great support. We sold out of almost everything! :)
