RAGBRAI XLVII Route: Friday, July 26 – Fairfield to Burlington

The complete route from Fairfield to Burlington on Friday travels 65.6 miles with a relatively flat 1,521 feet of climb. This will be the first time for an overnight on the Mississippi River as Burlington will be ready for their different role in RAGBRAI history. Friday is College Spirit Day, so pull out your best college jersey and garb!

FRIDAY – JULY 26, 2019
Fairfield to Stockport – 13.7 miles
Stockport to Salem (Meeting Town) – 16.4 miles
Salem to Houghton – 6.5 miles
Houghton to Geode State Park – 18.6 miles
Geode State Park to Middletown – 5.4 miles
Middletown to Burlington – 5.0 miles
Total Mileage: 65.6 miles
Total Feet of Climb: 1,521
The route (towns and roads) is subject to change.
The full route, along with roads and pass-through towns will be released starting this weekend. Each daily release should be out by 8:00 am CST. Enjoy the ride!

Construction on Lake Geode is still taking place. Iowa DNR anticipates it being wrapped up mid summer. Once construction is complete, the drain will be replaced and the lake will be allowed to fill up naturally. This looks like it is going to be a great day! Can’t wait to have a cold one in Salem! Last time I had a cold one in Salem was at a bar called The Vault back in 1992 or 1993.
