Rest is Magic

RAGBRAI is in the books for another year! We had an awesome time biking through Iowa with all our friends and family. The host towns were so welcoming with plenty of beautiful scenery and sunsets to watch, it was magical. But RAGBRAI is not just for sightseeing, it’s a hardcore workout to bike day in and day out for seven days straight covering close to 500 miles!
It takes a lot of guts and training to push through the hills, heat and wind. But despite the pain, it’s such a great feeling of accomplishment when you’ve finished your ride for the day. At Businessolver, we love to workout hard, set goals and power through tough physical challenges. We don’t call ourselves #Solvers for nothing! But don’t forget to rest. It may sound counterintuitive, but after a tough physical challenge where you push your body to the limit, your body needs to recover to prevent injuries like muscle tears. Be sure to drink plenty of water, eat some nourishing and healthy food high in protein and take it easy for a few days. You don’t have to stop working out, just don’t go ALL OUT.
But rest doesn’t mean posting up on the couch the rest of the year. Keep your heart healthy with cross training like cardio, weights, stretching, etc. It’s a great way to stay in the best physical condition for the whole year. Before you know it the 2020 RAGBRAI route will be announced. Let’s keep those hearts in great health all year round so we can see you next year! If you need some helpful tips on the difference between strength and cardio workouts check out our video here.
We hope you were able to visit our booth this year at one of the overnight towns to get your numbers checked. And if not, be sure to put us on your bucket list for next years’ ride?.
Stay on top of your heart healthiness and subscribe to our blog for more wellness videos sent directly to your inbox. We will see you next year!
Know your heart. Know the signs. Know your body. Know your numbers. Check them each year.
