The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa took off from Glenwood for Shenandoah on Sunday, the annual ride’s first day. Within hours, anaccident claimed the life of a rider.
Later, several riders took notice of a moment of unexpected beauty — a double rainbow appeared in the sky after a brief rain.
Several tweets of “peace & love” accompanied the photos shared on social media by Register photographer Rachel Mummey and reporter Tim Meinch.
