Three cheers for the bachelorette

Former cheerleaders don’t retire; they just get bicycles.
Four alumni of St. Edmund Catholic School in Fort Dodge hit the road this week as Team Rah Rah, as they have for the last 6 or 7 years.
The old Gaels cheers haven’t survived—there are all new ones for RAGBRAI—but the girls are still pretty spry. The three bases easily hoisted flyer Jamie Lunn of Fort Dodge into the air for their signature stunt.
The ride is extra special this year, because team member Amber Bonnstetter is getting married on Saturday. She decorated her bike helmet with pink bows and a white veil.
“Occasionally it gets in my face,” Bonnstetter said.
Another of the four, Andrea Feltz of Omaha, had her bachelorette party on RAGBRAI a few years ago.
“We thought we would continue the tradition,” Bonnstetter said. “It’s so much fun.”
Meet the members of Team Rah Rah and watch them perform a cheer in a Des Moines Register video at www.ragbrai.com.
