RAGBRAI LIII wristband packets have mailed – here’s your guide to what’s inside.

NOTE: The above image is from a 2025 Registration Packet. The graphics on your 2026 Registration Packet will vary slightly, but the items will be the same.
If you receive your wristband packet in the mail, you do not need to check in the first day. Your packet will contain everything you need. Enclosed in the participant packet are official RAGBRAI credentials that contain a number unique to you. Before you affix any of the items, please be sure the numbers on the wristband, bike band, and baggage tag match.
If you do not receive your wristband packet in the mail, and/or if you register after June 1 or are an international rider, you will need to check in at Registration and Packet Pick Up in Onawa. This will be at the Onawa Community Center, 320 10th Street, Onawa, IA from noon to 9pm on Saturday, July 18. If you will be arriving after the 18th, stop by and see us at the Info Booth at Main Campground in each overnight town. You can find the location of the Info Booths in the overnight town maps on the RAGBRAI Route page.
1. Rider Wristband
This wristband is for your wrist – not attached to the bike, an ankle, or hanging from a key chain.
NOTE: Do not put the wristband on until the week of RAGBRAI. The only way to remove it is to cut the band or ruin the snap. If the snap was ruined in the mail or a part of it is missing, visit the RAGBRAI Registration and Packet Pick Up room at the Onawa Community Center, 320 10th St, Onawa, IA from noon to 9pm on Saturday, July 18.
2. Bike Band
The bike band should be fastened to the top tube of your bicycle.
To attach the bike band:
- Insert one finger behind the snap when closing to exert pressure and create “wiggle room” on the bicycle.
- Cut off band excess.
3. Helmet Sticker – OPTIONAL

Professional photographers from Greenfly will be on site throughout the event capturing all the action and unforgettable moments! To make sure we can tag and share your photos quickly and accurately, please affix your number sticker to the front of your helmet before the event begins. This is optional. Find more info, preregistration, and FAQs here.
The optional sticker helps our system identify you in the photos—so you don’t miss a single memory! Smile big, have fun, and we’ll take care of the rest. More info coming soon on how to find and purchase your photos if you opt in.
Disclaimer: photos will be available for purchase only.
4. Commemorative Patch
Enjoy your Commemorative RAGBRAI LIII Patch! Collect a patch for each year you ride RAGBRAI. Riders affix them to bike bags, duffel bags, vests, bucket hats, and more!
5. Bike License Plate and Zip Ties
Please print your name and hometown or team name on the plate and use the provided zip ties to hang it from the back of your bike saddle. It is our hope that the license plates will encourage conversation and introductions among riders.
Also, the space is available on the back of the license plate for emergency contact information that can be utilized in case of emergency.
6. Baggage Tag and Loop
This baggage tag entitles you to receive free daily baggage service for ONE bag. You may have one bag weighing up to 50 lbs. Your bag must be clearly marked with the Baggage Tag and can be claimed each day by showing that the number on your rider wristband matches the number on the Baggage Tag.
If you would like to grant permission for other members of your group/team to claim your bag, you must write their wristband number(s) in the space provided on the Baggage Tag.
Daily riders must write their wristband numbers on their Baggage Tag.
Other Items
RAGBRAI mailed your registration merchandise separately from your wristband packet. This year, we shipped it directly to each registrant instead of the Team Captain, as we’ve done in the past. If you did not receive some/all of your merchandise, please see below.
