As this year slowly comes to an end, I reflect on yet another incredible journey across the beautiful state of Iowa. There is so much to be thankful for and I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you. Your enthusiasm, camaraderie, and spirit truly embody the essence of RAGBRAI, and it is your passion that makes this event so special.
This year, we witnessed breathtaking scenery but also the connections you formed with people from all 50 states and almost 20 countries. Whether you were navigating the rolling hills, sharing stories at the campgrounds, or enjoying the local hospitality in our host towns, your presence made RAGBRAI 51 one of the best on record.
As we look towards the future, I am thrilled about what lies ahead. Our small but mighty team is continually working to enhance your experience, ensuring that each year brings new opportunities for exploration and connection. Going into our 52nd year, we know that in order to be financially and operationally sound every aspect of this business needs to be reviewed. Our focus is on you, your safety, and the communities that host you. You and the communities are the driving force behind our decisions.
Your feedback and ideas are invaluable as we strive to make RAGBRAI an unforgettable experience for all. This year we witnessed the riders showing up and giving back to the communities that hosted them. While this event takes place one week out of the year the planning and organizing takes place the other 51 weeks. Please know that any changes we make to the ride come from our commitment to you, the communities, and the partners that support the ride.
As you spend time with your friends and family this holiday season reflecting on what you are thankful for, please know that I am thankful for your commitment and passion that keep this tradition alive. I can’t wait to see you again on our next trip across the state. Until then, keep the spirit of RAGBRAI alive in your hearts and on your ride.
