Today (Jan 24th) is probably some sort of holiday around Michrider’s place down there in Booger Hollow (or wherever the heck he holes up when he ain’t squatting on a curb somewhere).  It was on this date back in 1935 that the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company of Newark NJ introduced canned beer.

Ahhhh, BEER — like BIKE, one of the GOOD four-letter words!!

Michrider I had no idea that you lived in Newark NJ…..but my thanks go out to you for your invention.  How long did you work at the Krueger brewing company.

Snob.

It had to be said.
But I’m a snob too. I think the last time I had beer in a can I was half way across Iowa.

I normally prefer to drink my beer from glass.  However, when I’m Kurbing it in Iowa, I prefer cans, just in case I slip and fall off a Kurb!!!!!!!

Can or glass?  What ever, as long as it’s cold and you are in good company who cares.

Check the avatar. A PLASTIC glass but oh, did it hold a delectable nectar brew from heaven. Drawn at Day-4’s finish last year in Altoona by our charter’s own in-house small batch brewer. He made us all beer connoisseurs in a single evening! Ahhhh!
